The Role Of Love~
I know that when inspired by the spirit I will want to share my thoughts with all of you. So today as I was reading in the book by Elder Scott; I was thoughtfully reminded of a couple of things about the Role of Love.
"There is no love as deep and enduring, as pure and selfless, as motivating and inspiring as that of our Heavenly Father and His matchless Son. It is timeless, limitless, and the same for each and every one of the children of our Father in Heaven. When understood and appreciated it becomes the immovable, indestructible foundation of peace, happiness, and joy in your life.
" The highest priority of life should be love of Father in Heaven and His Holy Son, Jesus Christ, manifest by obedience to Their teachings. Love of spouse, children, and parents should be the next priority". (Finding Peace, Happiness, and Joy by Richard G. Scott.)
In the world of today can you even imagine living in the a land of no contention because of the love of God which did dwell in the hearts of the people.
" And there was no envying, nor strifes, nor tumults, nor whoredoms, nor lyings, nor murders, nor any manner of lasciviousness and surely there could not be ahappier people among all the people who had been created by the hand of god. There were no robbers, nor murderers,...but they were in one, the children of Christ, and heirs to the kingdom of god. And how blessed were they! For the Lord did bless them in all their doings...and there was no contention in all the land." (4 Nephi 1: 15-18) This is true Zion; which must first start in your homes.
Parley P. Pratt said the following. "It was Joseph Smith who taught me how to prize the endearing relationships of father and mother, husband and wife, of brother and sister, son and daughter. It was from him that I learned that the wife of my bosom might be secured to me for time and all eternity...It was from him that I learned the true dignity and destiny of a son of god, clothed with an eternal priesthood, as the partriarch and soveign dignity of womanhood was to stand as a queen and priestess to her husband, and to reign for every and ever as the queen...of her numerous and still increasing offspring."
"Pure love is the incomparable power for good. Pure love bridges deep cultural differences, heals heartache, increases compassion, and solidifies the bonds of friendship. It is the strongest, most effective influence to settle anger, soften hate, and resolve serious misunderstanding." -Elder Scott
Just some thoughts and love sent to all of you today~
